Egypt will not rule over other nations
Prophecy written between 593-571 BCEzekiel 29:15
15It shall be the lowliest of kingdoms; it shall never again exalt itself above the nations, for I will diminish them so that they will not rule over the nations anymore.
Continues to be fulfilled
Before Ezekiel, Egypt had dominated many nations, including Israel, for centuries. During the last 2500 years, however, Egypt has been controlled by the Romans, the Ottomans and the Europeans. Egypt has unsuccessfully tried to dominate Israel at least 3 times in the 20th century. Egypt hasn't rulled over any other nation since Ezekiel's time.
The Jews return to Jerusalem
Prophecy written between 520 and 518 BCZechariah 8:7-8
'Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east
And from the land of the west;
8I will bring them back,
And they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.
They shall be My people
And I will be their God,
In truth and righteousness.'
Fulfilled in 1967
Jerusalem and took many Jews captive about 2600 years ago. Many Jews returned later and rebuilt Jerusalem. The city, however, was destroyed about 1900 years ago by the Romans. The Romans killed more that a million and forced many into exile. In 1967, however, the Jews again took back control of Jerusalem during the Six Day War.
Israel's deserts become like the Garden of Eden
Prophecy written between 701-681 BCIsaiah 51:3
3For the Lord will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
Fulfilled during the 1900's
During the 1900s the Jews have reconditioned a desolate country through advanced cultivation and irrigation techniques. In the late 1800s Israel was almost a wasteland but has become a major food source for many countries. In the last century over 200 million trees have been planted and are thriving in Israel.
Massive number of Jews would return to Israel
Prophecy written between 701 to 681 BCIsaiah 43:5-6
5Fear not, for I am with you;
I will bring your descendants from the east,
And gather you from the west;
6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!'
And to the south, 'Do not keep them back!'
Bring My sons from afar,
And My daughters from the ends of the earth-
Fulfilled early 1900's
Jews living in the Middle East moved to Israel, as well as hundreds of thousands living in Europe and the United States. At first Russia forbid Jews to move to Israel, but they relented to pressure put on them from other countries and permitted Jews to move to Israel during the 1980s. Hundreds of thousands moved to Israel from Russia since then. Ethiopia, south of Israel, didn't allow Jews to move to Israel. However, in 1985 Israel and Ethiopia's communist government came to terms and Ethiopia allowed Jews to move to Israel. Ehiopia was paid a ransom, but on May 25, 1991, 14, 500 Jews were airlifted back to Israel.
