5 Now gather yourself in troops,

They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

Jesus is mocked

7All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8"He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!"
Matthew 27:31
31And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on

The Messiah is scorned

Jesus becomes too weak to carry the cross
