The Messiah becomes a stumbling stone and a rock of offense
Isaiah 8:14
14 He will be as a sanctuary,
But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense
To both the houses of Israel,
As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
"The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,"
8 and "A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense."
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And
leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of
Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet,saying:
15 "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned."
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
The Gentiles will seek Jesus

they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, "Sir, we wish
to see Jesus."
Jesus heals the deaf, the blind, the mute and cleanses lepers

5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.

2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" 4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."
